OTHER KERUS SEMINARS
Communicating ABC Messages with Confidence
Any prevention education program involving sexual behavior can feel like a personal or professional mine field for those in leadership. This seminar focuses on the different behavior change approaches to preventing HIV/AIDS, other sexual transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancy. Participants will learn points of common agreement and disagreement between various prevention philosophies, how to select appropriate educational products which support a particular philosophy of prevention, and practical skills that will enhance professional discussions when working with those representing different points of view.
Working with Orphaned and Vulnerable Children
AIDS, poverty and family brokenness has left a sea of children all around us who are struggling to survive. People who work with youth often say, "What do I do now?" As children share their deep hurts about the abusive situations they encounter it can be overwhelming. The Working With Youth and Vulnerable Children seminar is focused on identifying and understanding children in need, communicating in positive ways when they share their stories, establishing and maintaining appropriate boundaries in the relationship and identifying and referring youth to resources in the community better equipped to handle difficult situations.
Courageous Women Seminar
Dr. Cerullo and Dr. Ball use this two-day interactive seminar to explore what it means to move beyond doing good things as Christian women to exploring the heart and mind of God and radically engaging with the world around us.
