I didn't hope to hear a program that speaks about HIV/AIDS as educational as this. I like a lot of listening this program. When it begins in the radio, I call all my grandchildren to listen this program. It is very interesting.

Radio Drama Series: Grandma’s Village (32 programs)
Grandma’s Village is a 32-program drama series covering the key concepts of the ITC! Youth Curriculum. The drama series is a direct representation of the ITC! Youth Curriculum lessons, with 2, 15-minute radio dramas covering the key concepts for each of the curriculum lessons. Stories center around Magogo, a grandmother raising two grandchildren after their parents die of AIDS. The family lives in a fictitious rural African village. The radio dramas are produced under the direction of TWR, by nationals who culturalize each of the programs to their setting. The dramas are offered in faith-based and non-faith-based formats.
Grandma's Villagehas been produced by TWR into African-English, kiSwahili, Portuguese, & Xitshwa. These programs are on the airvia TWR partners in Kenya, Mozambique and Angola.
Faith-based Listening Groups
Kerus and TWR work with local churches and faith-based organizations to train local leaders to facilitate faith-based listening groups targeting children and/or their families. Listening group participants explore the storylines, discuss the content presented, and make personal applications to the material. Participants are introduced to Jesus and will explore the relevance of biblical teachings to the dramas. The Listening Group Facilitators are trained by TWR/Kerus staff working in conjunction with local churches or Christian organizations to coordinate the listening groups. Each facilitator is equipped with a Facilitator’s Guide which provides an overview of each program, the key concepts of the lesson, discussion questions and suggestions for biblical application of the material. Listening groups have been launched in Angola and Kenya reaching 15,0000+ participants.
